| Placement, a duo from England, creates a form of locational ambient music they call 'Landscape Music'. Pieces are designed as passages of sonic place building that forms virtual representations of real or imagined situations in the listener's mind. The positional subject matter projected, seen and felt in the imagination. "Marine Africa", the duo's second album, evokes the great continent's rivers, lakes, swamps, and adjoining seas. The tracks offer a huge variation of scale... a light aircraft's eye view vs. a landed and magnified detail. Multi-layered and transporting, this album celebrates the aerial exploration of African water systems from muddy water hole to the Cape. |
